High Ongar Primary School

We hope everyone had a great summer break, it seems that Mother Nature knew we were back to school and Autumn is well and truly upon us. Please remember to send your child in with ‘named’ jackets and other warm outdoor wear as the weather gets wetter and colder.

It may seem a long way off but the application process for Secondary and Reception places is now under way. Please make notes of the closure dates below if either is applicable to you. All current Year 6 children should have received Secondary application packs by now, these applications MUST be returned to Essex County Council by 26th October 2009.

Harmony club will run on Wednesday 7th October, straight after school. Children can be dropped off with Jo Saward just inside the school gate to be escorted to the church. Pick up from church at 4.30pm.

If you have any old shirts that you longer require that would be suitable as painting coverups for our children, we would be very grateful. Please hand them into the office.

Hopefully everyone has responded to the letters that were sent home regarding Parents Evenings, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday next week. Your appointment times should be sent out by the end of the week. If you have not yet returned your appointment request form please contact the class teacher as soon as possible to arrange a suitable time.

You should have received your Samaritan’s Purse leaflets in school bags by now. We hope that many of you will be able to donate a shoe box, they really do bring so much joy. Please make sure you hand them into school by Friday 13th November.

There will be a Christmas Lunch available on Wednesday 16th December. The price will be £2, the same as a normal school lunch, but will need to be pre-ordered by Tuesday 2nd December. A copy of the menu is on the back of newsletter.

As advised we will have a lost property uniform stall in the hall on Monday 7th December. Any unclaimed uniform will be bagged up for collection for the Bag 2 School appeal.
